Taytay Falls New look

I been to Taytay Falls in Majayjay Laguna for quite some time, I been there at least once a year and I been there twice this year. Its been the closest thing to paradise for me, the next best thing to the nicest place I ever been.

But the latest visit show me some changes and the new look of the magnificent waterfall and its catch basin. It's now missing a big chunk on its right side part. I noticed it when a big chunks of rocks are now available near where the water drops, I been there May this year and those big chuck was not there.

So i did some research and ask some of the locals there when and how this might had happened.
This is what most of them answers me.

There had been a shoot there for one of the scene in the movie of PIOLO PASCUAL and REGINE VELASQUEZ (Paano kita Iibigin) and they use some explosives that may have rocked the place. i asked them why did they not took action then. They told me that the rocks collapsed after a week. Due to heavy rainfalls that may triggered it by making the earth softer yet heavier. Good thing no one is hurt during the collapsed of the rocks.

It took me almost a month to finally rent the movie at video city to see for myself what may have triggerd the collapsed, and how big the explosion and its impact. It saddens me to see that they have to do this to one of my favorite place. I seen a explosion on top of the waterfalls twice, but its hard for me to really determined if they only set one explosion but used different angle to make it look that it happens twice.

To cut the story short I think that the locals there has the right theory on how the collapsed happened.

Majayjay again and again

Majayjay Laguna is and will always be a special place for me, here lies the famous Imelda Falls (taytay Falls) who is the very reason i started hiking in the mountains... I was very amazed by the beauty of it, the water basin that catches the waterfalls and the clear and cool water of this place... The trek is so easy that people tends to go here more and more. I on the otherhand tends to go back here every year sometimes twice to thrice a year, but every trip here is a brand new experience.

I been here with different companions, from friends, classmates, officemates, family and loveones, sometimes i even encounter bumping to old friends here, but most of the time I gain new friends here.

Here in Majayjay is where mitch (my gf) and I have our special date. Its my very first hiking experience, my first night trek and my first overnight in the woods. Its also the first time that i sleep on a tent. Plus the very first time that i actually seen and swim on a waterfalls basin.
